Hello sleep!

Special hello to all of my new blog followers!

Last night was the first night that K slept ALL THROUGH THE NIGHT! She may have stirred just a little bit but that was it. And guess what? She co-slept with us last night!
I believe that was the best sleep the three of us have had since she was born.
Since birth, she has been in a bassinet right beside our bed so I can easily reach her for those middle-of-the-night nursing sessions. Over the past few days, though, things began to change. After I'd nurse her and try to lay her back in the bassinet- she couldn't get settled & would end up crying after a few minutes...this happened over and over. So... I'd end up leaving her in the bed with us, but not between us (Luke is afraid he'll roll over on her).
She sleeps on my other side. I don't worry about her falling off the bed because her bassinet is pushed right up to the side of the bed, and then there is a pillow in between it and the bed, AND she is in her sleep-positioner to keep her from rolling around.
Last night, though, I made the decision for her to spend the whole night in the bed with us.
It was the best.decision.EVER.
I swaddled her, nursed her, and then laid her down. I had every intention of giving her a bottle of pumped milk before Luke and I fell asleep, but she never woke up for it!
You have to understand-- I am one of those women who said, "My baby will never sleep in the bed with us!"
I think my fear was that the baby would get used to it and then have a hard time transitioning to the crib in later months.
So what changed my mind?
This article right here on co-sleeping. (Thank you, Dr. Sears!)
It is fairly long but SO informative. I'd love for you all to read it and then share your thoughts/comments with me!
