Kynlee Grace is now 4 months old!
On Wednesday we had her 4-month check-up (about a week late) and she is weighing in at 12 lbs., 4 ounces! She is now 23.75 inches long and healthier than ever!
Since this was her 4-month appointment, it meant she was getting more shots. She got to skip the Hep.B vaccine this time but will pick it back up at her 6-month appointment. So she ended up getting two shots (1 in each thigh) and one oral vaccine (that she hated once again...must taste yucky).
Apparently the flash was bright to K's eyes! Just wanted to share a pic of her band-aids... poor baby!
She cried screamed while getting the shots and continued crying for about 1 minute after and then she just quit. That was it. She whimpered a little bit here and there but fell straight to sleep once we got into the car.

With her last shots (at 2 months) she cried screamed for much longer so I was happy that she was able to calm down sooner this time. However, she never ran a fever or anything with her 2-month shots - she was completely fine about 10 minutes later. This time is a different story.
A few hours later I noticed that K felt really warm. Her first temperature check Wednesday evening showed a 100.4F so we started Tylenol then. The next day around lunch her fever was 101.9F (more Tylenol)!
I know that many babies run fevers after getting shots but I wasn't sure what would be considered TOO high so I called the doctor (since 100.4F is considered too high for K's age any other time excluding shots). A nurse called back about an hour later and explained in great detail the side effects of each shot. I re-checked K's rectal temperature while on the phone with the nurse and it had come down to 100.7F. Since then she hasn't had much fever but has been SO fussy (like she doesn't feel good) and has had a big loss in her appetite. I feel so bad for her. :(
Update: As of today (01-09-11) Kynlee is no longer running a fever -thankfully- but remains fussy and still hasn't got her appetite back. Please pray she will feel better soon!

On a fun note, a year ago from yesterday (the 8th) was the day we found out we were pregnant. My how a year can change things! What in the world did I do before I was a momma? I wouldn't trade this life for anything!
